Overdue update.

July 9, 2008

Sorry folks…I’ve (Connie) been out of the country and have done a poor job at staying on top of this… BUT

Laura is doing great! Doctors are pleased. She has been able to get out some…and will be making a road trip to visit family. Hopefully, Laura will be able to post her own updates…soon.

Thank you all for your continued prayers and support. She has a long way to go…keep praying, sending words of encouragement.

How ’bout it?

June 2, 2008

At Laura’s request…here is a verse she wanted to share.

Isaiah 30:15 (New Living Translation)

This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says: “Only in returning to me and resting in me will you be saved. In quietness and confidence is your strength. But you would have none of it.

She read the verse and then said… “How ’bout it”?

Ambassadors.

May 25, 2008

This morning Laura called and asked that we put these verses up for her.

2 Corinthians 5:20-21 (NLT)

So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!” For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin,  so that we could be made right with God through Christ.

Today, Laura called to say that during her time of Bible study with her mom….God gave her a word. She found it in Philippians 3:13. (New Living Translation) It says…No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead. Laura shared how her past is behind her…and is looking forward to the future.

The other day, shortly after praying for peace…she received a package in the mail from an old childhood friend. In it…was a CD labeled…PEACE. Thank you for the packages and mail…keep them coming. She looks forward to getting them.

She continues to heal, but asks that you keep praying. She still has the headaches and struggles with anxiety.  Tonight, like many of us…she is sitting in front of the TV watching the Pistons game.

Stint removed.

May 17, 2008

The procedure on Thursday to have Laura’s stint removed went well.

She continues to battle with stomach issues.

Headaches aren’t as frequent.

She’s been enjoying the MBA playoffs, People magazine and care packages!

Currently she’s watching a lot of movies… She’s become a film critic, recommending the movie Kite Runner.

She treasures your prayers. Thank you!
